Let’s DO DURANGO!

Important Notice:   Don’t miss out on this exciting bike tour.  Send your registration forms and deposit ASAP - Deadline is April 24 ! !

Kathy and Joe Stommel are excited to announce an Out of Town Tour returning to Durango June 2-7, 2024.  This OOTT will include four riding days with two routes starting at the hotel and two routes we will drive to - plus a free day!  Tour rating is Fun Plus.   Destinations include the historic Bakers Bridge, Vallecito Reservoir and Canyons of the Ancients Museum & Visitors Center near Dolores, CO.   One evening we will enjoy a chuckwagon dinner and cowboy show. 

Hotel amenities include suites with two queen or one king bed; in-room refrigerators, microwave & coffee/tea maker; complimentary hot breakfast; indoor swimming pool; hot tub; fitness center; free WiFi and parking; bike storage in room.

Participants must be comfortable riding on roads with little or no shoulder, although with only light traffic most of the time.  Also you must be prepared to handle any bike maintenance issues such as repairing flat tires.  Maximum number of participants is 18 with a minimum of 14 to make this tour go.  Class 1 E-bikes are welcome.

Tour price per person for double occupancy is $800 plus a required $50 DBTC fee for a total of $850.  This price includes 5-nights lodging, chuckwagon dinner & show, one box lunch, happy hour snacks, pre and post-tour meetings.  If interested please download the Registration/Medical form and Liability Waiver from the DBTC website, under Out of Town Tours tab, Items #1 and #2.  Mail these completed forms along with a $500 deposit check payable to Kathy Stommel and a separate $50 check payable to DBTC.  Address for mailing is Kathy Stommel, 9631 Autumnwood Pl, Highlands Ranch, CO  80129.  The final $300 payment will be due no later than May 1, 2024

Wednesday, March 20th


11:00AM FUN PLUS-H2-22 miles-SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) cell at Reynolds Landing parking lot (6745 S. Santa Fe Dr). We will ride the South Platte to Chatfield State Park, then up the dam over to the marina. After a break we will return the same way.

Start Time: 11:00 AM. Please arrive early and be ready to leave on time. Please dress for the weather and bring a snack , water, pump or inflator, extra tube or patch kit. We should average 12 to 15 MPH.

Each member or guest will need to register for the lunch!

When: Saturday, May 4, 2024

Where: Robert F. Clement Park, shelters P & Q

(Use the west entrance by Columbine Library and Skate Park near 7650 W. Bowles Ave. Littleton, CO)


Price: $15.00 per person

          Includes BBQ sandwich from Piggin’ Out Smokehouse, with choice of pulled pork or pulled chicken; or a vegetarian entree; with baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad and birthday cake!

          Option for meat:

          - pulled pork

          - pulled chicken

            Vegetarian entree

            (Stuffed poblano pepper, not spicy, filled with smoked quinoa)


Schedule:

8:30 am- 10:00 am- Bike Rides will depart from Clement Park. Leisure, Fun and Fun+ rides to be arranged by some of your favorite Ride Leaders.  More details to be posted soon!

12:00 pm- BBQ Lunch will be served for those who have prepaid.

As a DBTC Active member, take advantage of this benefit that provides you with tools for creating, storing, managing and using bike routes.  DBTC's group of Route Managers continues to build a RWGPS database of bike routes as they become available.  Your participation using this benefit is strictly voluntary.  Click on the "Ride With GPS" homepage menu item and learn how to set up and use this benefit!

DBTC is not currently producing or selling maps wholesale. Current members may request a 2019 DBTC map from Board member Marilyn Choske for a small donation. New members receive a free 2019 DBTC map in the mail after joining the Club.
