June 2025 DBTC Ride Schedule 


Sunday, June 1st:

8:30 am FUN-H1-24-30 NE. ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL RIDE. Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565)  at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney. We’ll ride city streets north to the Sand Creek Trail, ride toward Northfield area and Rocky Mountain Arsenal.  We will return by way of bike lanes and Central Park Greenway trails.  Pace will be 12 to 14 mph.   Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565.  Will have the opportunity to get a snack at Cake Crumbs after the ride.


Monday: June 2nd: 

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Broken Tee Golf Course (west side of parking lot at 2101 W. Oxford in Englewood).  We will ride the South Platte Trail north to the Bear Creek Trail, which we will take west over the Bear Creek Dam to Morrison.  After a break, we will return via Morrison Rd to Fox Hollow Golf Course, where we will meet up with the Bear Creek Trail and ride back to the start.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, June 3rd:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H-1-36 Miles-N. Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Twin Lakes Park, 300 West 70th (just west of Broadway). Ride east along Clear Creek and then north along The South Platte River to Veterans Park in Brighton. Then return the same way. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.

10:30 AM MTB P2 T2    Genesee Mountain Park.   Meet Steve Farley at the top parking lot of Denver Parks and Recreation, Genesee Mountain Park. Take exit 254 on I-70 to get to the park.   Go across the I-70 highway bridge and make a right turn to ascend to the top parking area.  We will do a loop from the top, counter clockwise, downhill and then come back up along the Buffalo pasture near, The Patrick House which an old stage stop.  We will ride up to the flag pole parking lot and then a short walk to the summit at 8284 feet for 360-degree views.  About a five-mile loop and 500 ft of elevation gain.  Do two loops if you like. Hopefully we will see the buffalo and I have seen bear in the park.  All riders must sign-in at the start to officially be on the ride. Post ride Bring a chair and lunch/snacks for post ride socializing in the parking lot.


Wednesday, June 4th:

9:30 AM FUN -H2&3-20SW Ride the Roller Coaster Construction is done: Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 at Broken Tee Golf Course 2101 W Oxford Ave, Englewood to ride the Platte River Trail to use the NEW TUNNEL under Santa Fe and ride the C-470 trail, then a final climb to Clarkson for your reward - fun rollers followed a great downhill to Big Dry Creek to finish the loop. Bring lunch for a picnic. 


Thursday June 5:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-34 miles 2880 feet gain. Meet Diane Short across from the gas station at Rooney Rd (C-470) and Morrison Rd.  Ride up Bear Creek to Evergreen, do the back roads to Bergen Park and return via Kerr Gulch. 9:00 AM LEISURE H1/H2-20 SE. Piney Creek Trail.  Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Arapahoe Rd Trailhead for the Cherry Creek Trail 14(just east of Jordan Road on the south side of the street.)  We will ride north into Cherry Creek Park and turn east on the Piney Creek Trail.  We will ride to a point just past E 470 and turn around for a total of about 20 miles.  Bring a snack and money for an optional lunch at a local restaurant.


Monday, June 9th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-21-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44 & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to the Peak to Plains Trail, which we will ride to the current construction point.  We will then return to Parfet Park for a break and then return to the start via the Clear Creek Trail.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, June 10th:

9:00 AM LEISURE- H1-20 SW TACO Tuesday Ride.  Meet Karen Kelley 303-260-9029 at Broken Tee Golf Course( west end of parking lot) 2101 W Oxford in Englewood.  Ride up to Little Dry Creek, Cherry Hills Village, Highline Canal (gravel) to Big Dry Creek.  Taco Tuesday Lunch @ Monaghan's Bar and Grill 3889 S. King St. There used to be a tunnel there to Fort Logan so the soldiers could sneak out.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-35-SE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead for a ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail to Cobblestone Ranch Park. We’ll make a couple of stops at nice parks before turning around and biking back. This trail is a very gradual uphill going out that you won’t notice until you turn around and start back when you’re rewarded with a downhill! It’s a pretty ride! Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

NEW RIDE

9:00 AM INT-H4-47-SW 4200' Elevation Gain Meet Sandra Huzyk (303-807-1308) in Morrison for a ride up and over Deer Creek Canyon, through the Homestead neighborhood and then a lunch stop at Lynne's Whistle Stop Cafe in Tiny Town.  It will be a shortened version of this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50915169  Meet 8:30am for a 9am start on Rooney Rd. in Morrison near the gas station.  We will ride through Bear Creek Lake Park, then catch the C-470 bike path to get into Ken Caryl.  We will return via Ken Caryl and North Ranch neighborhoods.  Bring rain gear.


Wednesday, June 11th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2to3-22 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at the Sheridan Library Parking lot west of Federal and Oxford.  We’ll head toward the rebuilt Bow Mar area and go to Bowles Lake, Grant Ranch to Wadsworth and back to Sheridan High School.  We’ll ride some hills and lots of ups and downs, some beautiful quiet streets and pleasant bike paths.  Lunch is at Monaghan’s Bar and Grill 3889 S King St. There used to be a tunnel from there to Fort Logan so the soldiers could sneak out.


Thursday June 12th

9:00 AM FUN Plus H3 27 miles, 2800 feet gain. Meet Diane Short at the Walmart far west end at ElRanco exit of I-70.  Ride Soda Creek, Alta Vista, Bergen Park west. 8:30 AM FUN+-H3-10-W-+1370' elev gain. "Progressive Lookout Challenge #1: Lookout Mountain for Beginners 101!" (Mountain-riding Month with Marilyn) Friday the 13th--it's your Lucky Day!  REGISTER BY TEXT 303-905-8510 to leader by June 12, 5PM. Come try Lookout and get more elevation training in!  Meet Marilyn Choske at the Lookout Mountain Road "pillars" parking lot--> from Hwy 6, go .3 mile on Lookout Mtn Road to parking on the left. Restrooms available. If you pass the two big pillars, you've gone too far. We'll ride at our own paces and stop at the Windy Saddle Lot 3.1 miles from the cars; regroup.  Continue to 4.7 miles and pull off at the yellow posts on the right; regroup. Return down the mountain to our cars!    Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call the leader if in doubt.

9:00 AM, LEISURE-H1-22-E/NE – TEN PARKS RIDE: Meet Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) at Central Park Rec Center, 9651 Martin Luther King Dr. We'll ride from park to park in east Denver, scoping out a few historic landmarks on the way. We'll ride through some familiar and maybe a few less familiar Denver parks, always beautiful in June.   Weather permitting (check Meet Up for any rain cancellation). 


Saturday, June 14th (Flag Day)

9:00 FUN-H2-20-NW 9:00 AM MAJESTIC FLAG DAY RIDE. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic View Park north parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. or 71st ST!) The theme of this ride is our own great United States flag so one will be provided to all participants! The ride will go west on Ridge Road and Van Bibber Creek Trail, north on the new Blunn Trail and then return on the Ralston Creek Trail. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!


Sunday, June 15th (Fathers Day):

9:15 AM FUN H2–20 - Downtown  Meet Jeff Krinsky(720-373-9107) for this Father's Appreciation Ride that is designed for both fathers and anyone who has or has had a father. The ride culminates at Hudson Gardens for FREE BEVERAGES! We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (23rd Ave Exit from I25, go down the hill, drive by the REI Superstore going NE, cross 15th St and keep going till you see the parking lot directly in front of you. Go to the parking lot past the large bike statue.)for this fantastic ride down the Platte River Bike Path to the infamous Hudson Gardens and back. A complementary beverage of your choice will be provided to allfathers and non-fathers alikeby DBTC at the break at Nixon’s Coffee House at Hudson Gardens.THIS RIDE THAT WILL START YOUR FATHER'S DAY OFF WITH A BANG!


Monday, June 16th:

8:30 AM FUN-H2-23-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at the Stone House (Estes & Yale along the Bear Creek Trail) for a ride north to Wheat Ridge.  We will ride north on Garrison to 26th Ave, riding a loop through Applewood neighborhoods taking 32nd Ave east of Wadsworth through Wheat Ridge neighborhoods.  There will be opportunities for two breaks at Crown Hill Park before returning to the start.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, June 17th:

7;30 AM FUN+-H3-16-W-+1897' elev gain. Progressive Lookout Challenge #2: Lookout Mountain for Beginners 102 We add a bit more distance & elevation from the "101" ride! REGISTER BY TEXT 303-905-8510 to leader by June 16, 5PM. Meet Marilyn Choske at meet place directions at end of description. Once we get to Lookout Mountain Road, ride at your pace to Windy Saddle lot at 5.2 miles; regroup.  Continue to 6.8 miles and pull off at the yellow posts on the right; regroup. Ride up to the viewing deck.  Enjoy the downhill ride and we'll stop at a nearby coffee place to celebrate your Lookout accomplishment!  Return to the cars.  Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call the leader if in doubt. MEET PLACE directions:   Park in the westernmost area of the Clear Creek Parking Lot--Free Public Parking in Golden.  Enter from the 10th & Archer Streets area (on Archer Street).  Use your Maps app or contact leader beforehand.  Look for my red Kia Sportage w/bike rack.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-30 miles-SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Stone House (Estes & Yale along the Bear Creek Trail).  We will ride east on the Bear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail. We will ride the South Platte to the C-470 trail go over to the dam at Chatfield State Park returning down the road to the South Platte and Bear Creek to the Stone House. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride. 

9:00 AM  LEISURE H2-17-NW. Meet Marlene Patacky (720 838-7338) for a Something for Everyone Ride on the Highline at the NW corner of the Municipal Center, 15152 E. Alameda Parkway.  We will ride the last quarter of the Highline Canal (mostly paved and some gravel.) We will leave cars with bike racks and drive the other cars with bike racks to the end of the Highline Canal- E. 64th Avenue & Himalaya Road, Aurora. Ever wanted to ride the whole Highline Canal trail?  Plans are to do the total 71 miles of the Highline in 4 parts (one part monthly)  this season. We have four different leaders who conspired to do this so look for future Highline rides in the coming months.

9:00 AM. LEISURE-H1-20-S - PARKER LOOP RIDE: Meet Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) at Arapahoe Trailhead, 14742 E. Arapahoe Rd. We will ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail at a good pace to Parker, loop around Parker at a leisurely pace via the Sulphur Gulch Trail and Tallman Gulch, then back to the Cherry Creek Trail via McCabe Meadows. Bring a sack lunch to socialize after 

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-34-SE 1600’ Elevation Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead for a ride to and around Aurora Reservoir. This ride has plenty of hills and will be a mix of the Cherry Creek Trail, the High Plains Trail, the Piney Creek Trail, the Aurora Reservoir Trail and residential roads. We’ll make planned breaks on the route at Red-tailed Hawk Park, Aurora Reservoir beach, and Piney Creek Hollow Park. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Wednesday, June 18th:

9:00 AM FUN H1-21 SE Explore South High to Central Park (not in NYC) Meet Patty Gaspar(303-618-5069) in the parking lot of South High School, corner of Louisiana and S. Franklin, near the SE corner of Washington Park. The ride will include Westerly Creek, Central Park, City Park, and Cheesman Park. Let’s hope the leader doesn’t get lost again! Lunch at Duffy’s


Thursday, June 19th:

9:00 AM ATB/H2 - 33 miles-Gravel ride the Boulder Reservoir/Open Sky Gravel loop. Gravel bike/tires or MTB needed. Elevation 1033’: 80% Gravel 20% RoadMeet Lauren Delle (970-903-8409) in the parking lot of Avery Brewing 4910 Nautilus Court, Boulder, 80310 to embark on the last official day of Spring riding on the Boulder Reservoir/Open Sky Loop. This route has a combination of trails, crushed gravel paths, dirt roads and double track- none of which would be considered technical. Friday, June 20th: First Official Day of Summer

9:00 AM FUN-H2-23-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE HIDDEN GEMS OF ARVADA First Day of Summer Ride. We have all experienced the traditional Arvada classic trails of Ralston Creek, Clear Creek, and Van Bibber. Check out this new route instead that explores Lake Arbor, the Pomona Lakes, the Arvada Fire Fighter’s Park, the backside of baseball, and other forgotten areas and is guaranteed to be an adventure! Meet at the SE corner of HWY 36 and 104th at the back side of the new HotPot, formally Black Bear Diner, formally Quaker State and Lube Restaurant (10392 Reed St., Westminster, CO) by a hidden entrance to a hidden trail where the adventure will begin (and end).

9:00 AM FUN-H3-21-NW  (Elevation Gain = 1225 feet) - Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!!  This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you under the trees at the Safeway at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)


Sunday, June 22nd:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-21 NW (1541 ft elevation gain) HIDDEN GEMS OF GOLDEN JUGGLING RIDE!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Hidden Gems adventure around beautiful Golden as we celebrate the new summer. We will meet at Clear Creek Parking Lot at the NE corner of 10th and Archer (304 10th St, Golden, CO 80401) in Golden and ride the Golden Circle and beyond to Heritage Park and other unexplored areas including, I promise you, a rose garden. Riders will be rewarded for their climbing around Golden with a high altitude juggling act at Heritage Dells Park before the descent begins.


Monday, June 23rd:

8:30 AM FUN-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take to the Ralston Creek Trail.  After a break, we will ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail returning via the Clear Creek Trail back to the park.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, June 24th:

7:00 AM INT-H3/4-21-W-+2607' elev gain. Progressive Lookout Challenge #3: Lookout Mountain-Plus for All!. This will challenge you!  REGISTER BY TEXT 303-905-8510 to leader by June 23, 5PM.  Meet Marilyn Choske at the Apex Trailhead parking lot off Highway 40 (West Colfax) or off Heritage Road. Restrooms and water fillups available.  Look for my red Kia Sportage with bike rack.  From Apex trailhead, ride Kinney Run Trail to Hwy 6 bikepath.  Climb and access 19th St over Hwy 6.  Once we get to Lookout Mountain Road, ride at your pace to Windy Saddle lot and regroup.  Continue to the yellow posts on the right at Lookout Mountain and regroup. Optional ride up to the viewing deck. Continue on Lookout Mountain Road; before Hwy 40, turn right onto Mount Vernon Road and ride to Genesee.  Coffee or ice cream stop at Genesee Town Center, compliments of DBTC for your efforts today!  Ride southside frontage road and neighborhoods to left overpass at I-70 then continue on Hwy 40 to Apex and cars.  Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call leader if in doubt.


Wednesday, June 25th: BIKE TO WORK DAY

7:00 AM  LEISURE – H1-18 miles Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at Cook Park Rec Center 7100 Cherry Creek So. Dr. (west parking lot), Denver 80224 – off of Monaco.  There’s construction in the area, so you may have to access  from Quebec Street.  We will cruise the Cherry Creek Trail, stopping a various BTW Day stations for snacks and swag on our way to REI.  Then we will ride to the Civic Center to  the DBTC booth and others.  We will return by way of Congress Park and Washington Park. Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565.

FUN-H1-23-W/NW-563' elev.  "Bike-to-Work Day!"  TWO FOR TWO! Options, that is...==> REGISTER BY TEXT with your preferred Option #, below, to leader 303-905-8510 by Tuesday, June 24, 5PM. 

Option #1: Meet 07:00 AM Depart 07:10 AM. Meet Marilyn Choske at Crown Hill Park in Wheat Ridge and ride to Civic Center Park. Return to Crown Hill after completing Option #2 ride. About 15 more miles.

Option #2: Meet 09:00 AM Roll 09:15 AM  Join ride leaders Marilyn Choske and Patty Gaspar and other DBTCers at Bike-to-Work Day DBTC booth in Denver's Civic Center Park for this northwesterly loop ride.  "Pickups" at 09:45am at REI/Starbucks Platte River Trail-side--no stop: call leader if you're meeting us there.  From Civic Center Park, access Cherry Creek Trail to Platte River to Clear Creek to Sloans Lake with optional beverage stop along the way; bring $.  This group #2 returns to Denver. Group #1 returns to Wheat Ridge.  Mostly bike paths with some bike-friendly street riding.  Easy pace, no-drop.


Thursday, June 26th

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW NEW & IMPROVED WESTMINSTER CLASSIC. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for an exciting ride full of unexpected twists, turns, and surprises...and now with BRAND NEW TRAILS. We will meet at the parking lot by the Armed Forces Tribute Garden, WEST of the baseball diamonds in Westminster City Park. (Directions: From US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd/104th Ave. exit, east on 104th about 1/2 mile to the first left after the Westminster Blvd light (just past the Armed Forces Tribute Garden), then go LEFT again into the parking lot. The address for the park is 10455 Sheridan Blvd but note again that we are meeting WEST of the buildings and baseball fields.) This ride takes us through the Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton area, including the Farmer’s Highline Canal, Lee Lateral, and Grange Hall Creek trails.


Friday, June 27th

7:15 AM FUN+-H3-NW-31-+1625' elev gain.  "WAG' LOOP!" WAG=Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Golden.  REGISTER BY TEXT to leader 303-905-8510 by Thursday, June 26, 5PM.  Join Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park, 44th & Field St, Wheat Ridge--back parking lot near big pavilion for this counter-clockwise circuit ride.  Go north on streets and bike paths to Arvada, then west to roads south.  72nd Ave west to up and over Blunn Reservoir on Ralston Creek Trail.  Cross Hwy 93 to White Ranch east TH and ride roads to Golden.  Optional beverage stop with group consensus.  Return on roads and Clear Creek Trail to Anderson Park.  Ride won't go if rainy or forecast is for morning or early afternoon rain/t-storms; call the leader if in doubt.


Saturday, June 28th: 

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-24-Frisco (Elevation Gain = 1171’) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE FREE ICE CREAM TOUR OF LAKE DILLON. We will meet at the Summit Middle School parking lot in Frisco and ride the multi-use trail around Lake Dillon toward Keystone. We will then climb the Swan Mountain bike path to the top and enjoy the incredible view after which we will enjoy the fabulous downhill toward Frisco, completing a circle back to Frisco where DBTC will purchase ice cream for all riders at the Foote Sweet Shoppe. Directions to Summit Middle School, 158 School Rd, Frisco: Drive westbound from Denver on I-70 to Exit 203, and take the roundabout exit that leads south onto the bridge crossing I-70. Continue south on Summit Blvd. (Hwy 9) for .8 miles to the stoplight intersection of School Rd. & CR 1040. Turn left onto School Rd. and look for DBTC members in the parking lot. 


Sunday, June 29th:

8:30 am FUN-H1-24-30 NE.   MYSTERY RIDE TO THE EAST. Meet Cyndy Klepinger(303.725.1565)  at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney. We’ll ride a combination of city streets  to the Sand Creek Trail, then ride east toward the Aurora Soccer fields.  We will return by way of bike lanes and city streets.  Route may change depending on construction and increased traffic.   Pace will be 12 to 14 mph.    Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565.  Will have the opportunity to get a snack at Cake Crumbs after the ride.


Monday, June 30th:

8:00 AM FUN-H3-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride south to Alameda and then west to Morrison via Rooney Rd.  After a break, we will ride east on Morrison Rd and the
