Wednesday, October 1st:

10:00 AM FUN -H2/H3-24 SW Pie in the sky? Come help me celebrate my birthday. Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Granny Scott’s Pie Shop (3333 S Wadsworth Blvd.). We’ll pay our respects to the goddess and then head west to Kipling then over to the C470 trail. There is a great downhill back to Lowell and Bear Valley. Lunch at the pie shop.


Thursday October 2nd:

NEW RIDE

9:45 am NE Fun Plus H1 32 NE Twin Lakes to Ken Mitchell Park   Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes 300 West 70th Ave, (1/8 mi West of Broadway & 224) Denver.  Bike East on Clear Creek bikeway to South Platte trail and turn left, North. Following the Platte River on the right, for 16 miles to Ken Mitchell Park and Open space.  Break and bathroom(possibly enroute) at Park. After the break we will return by same route to Twin Lakes around lunch time.  Entire route is flat and open views of Thornton ponds and river.   Welcome to bring snack/lunch items for socializing after ride if desired.                                                                                                   

10:00 AM FUN+ 27 miles H2 ~1500 gain. Meet Diane Short inside the RTD parking garage at 6th Ave. and Johnson Rd. Golden (at the 'Taj').  Ride through Golden and Arvada neighborhood streets and some bike paths to bypass the Arvada Reservoir and head into the neighborhoods to the north.  Back via Easley Rd. Golden and the 6th Ave. bike path.  Water and rest stop in Arvada (64th and Quaker). Please RSVP 303-271-9642 (land).  I am Not on Meet Up.


Friday, October 3rd:

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-26-SE Sulphur Gulch and Tallman Gulch Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead (.2 miles east on Arapahoe Rd from the Arapahoe Rd and S. Jordan Rd intersection) for a ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail and then east on the Sulphur Gulch trail. We’ll stop for a break at Fika Coffee house and warm up if needed before continuing on the Tallman Gulch trail. We’ll ride that until it connects to the Cherry Creek trail and head back to our starting point. Bring $ for a drink at the coffee house and a sack lunch for a picnic afterward. Saturday, October 4th:

9:30 AM FUN-H2-21-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE TRIPLE LOOP HIDDEN ARVADA GEMS 2.0. Experience this new exciting ride that takes us from a central point out to three separate loops that are about 7 miles each. You can do one, two, or all three of these fabulous loops. Loop 1 goes west by Rose Roots Community Garden to the Village of Five Parks. Loop 2 goes north by Oakhurst Parks 1 and 2 to Standley Lake. Loop 3 goes south by the Lakecrest Cluster and Clubcrest Parks to beautiful Majestic View Park. Meet at the center of the three loops at the Standley Lake Library parking lot at 8485 Kipling Street in Arvada where the action begins!   


Sunday, October 5th:

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-28 N (774 feet of elevation gain) THE HIDDEN GEMS OF Thornton/Northglenn/Westminster!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for Hidden Gems adventure around the tri cities and other nearby areas highlighted by Clear Creek, Platte River (including the infamous Thornton Ponds,) backwards on the Highline Canal, HWY 36 Trail, and Little Dry Creek. To do this loop right we need to go 28 miles but it will be well worth the effort! We will meet at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th Ave). Bring food for a post-ride picnic lunch at beautiful Twin Lakes Park. 


Monday, October 6th:

MOVED TO THURSDAY OCT 9th DUE TO WEATHER

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-23-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Reynolds Landing (6745 S. Santa Fe Dr) for a ride south on the Platte River Trail to Chatfield State Park, where we will ride over the dam to the marina via the road.  After a break, we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00am LEISURE H-1 18 SE/ SW     Meet Marlene Patacky and Jill McMahon (303) 303-888-0314 at the Goodson Rec Center.  This will be part of theRide the Total Highline Canal Trail Adventure. We will ride around DeKoevend Park and connect with the Highline Trail (gravel) going west as far as the County Line Road Trailhead and return.  Bring money for a snack and an optional lunch at First Watch.

NEW RIDE

MOVED TO THURSDAY OCT 9th DUE TO WEATHER

10:00 AM MTB T2-P2 4-10 miles (shorter, easier, route is Quarry Trail) Join Jennifer Sax (720-260-8595) for a ride up Shoshonite Trail to the top of South Table Mountain.  Some of us can ride further up the road and take an easier route.   We will ride to the Dance Hall peak and hike the stairs to the high point for a photo. Then, you can pick which trail(s) to return to the Shoshonite Trail to descend back to your car. The trailhead is located across the street from Faith Lutheran Church at 17701 W. 16th Avenue. (west side of church on Rimrock Road)   Parking is on the street. Optional lunch after is at Bonfire Burritos 2221 Ford Street Golden.   


Tuesday, October 7th:

8:45 AM--INT-H4-37-SW-+1865’ elev.  “KEN CARYL/VALLEY/CHATFIELD/ COLUMBINE LOOP"  REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by October 6, 5:00pm.  Join Marilyn Choske at Green Gables Park, enter from the east side of Garrison, located between Wisconsin & Florida, for this ambitious leg-burner, heart-pumping LOOP ride. Pedal south and west thru Bear Creek Park to C470 south.  Ride onto and thru Ken Caryl neighborhoods to Valley Road and on to Chatfield.  Maneuver to Columbine Trail and Lowell north.  Bring $ and reward your efforts with a cool beverage and maybe a treat at the Mineral Ave Dunkin'.  Continue north to Bear Creek Trail and ride NW to Garrison and our start.  Limit 8 riders, including leader.  No ride if it is rainy or precip in forecast.

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-31-SW Meet Simone Caruthers (720-636-2884) at Wheat Ridge Cyclery on Ken Caryl (12402 W Ken Caryl Ave, Littleton 80127, east of Ken Caryl exit off of C470).  We will ride up Deer Creek Canyon Rd into the neighborhoods and into Chatfield State Park, taking the road around the lake to Sterling Ranch.  After our break at a coffee shop (bring $$), we will return back to Wadsworth.  We will then continue through neighborhoods back to the start.


Wednesday, October 8th:

10:00 AM FUN-H3-20-SW – Amazing Maze Ride Meet Jeff Messerschmidt (303-904-0573, leave message) at the Stone House, 2900 S. Estes, Lakewood, and cycle up Estes then  west through Lakewood and take our break in  Morrison, then south and east  through unincorporated South JEFFco. 


Thursday, October 9th:

9:30 AM FUN-H2-23-NW 9:00 AM NEW MAJESTIC COLORADO TAPHOUSE ADVENTURE . Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the new COLORADO TAPHOUSE (14982 W 69th Ave, Arvada, CO 80007.) This loop ride will use the Ralston Creek Trail, Van Bibber Creek Trail, Blunn Trail and others. We will enjoy a drink and/or lunch at the COLORADO TAPHOUSE after the ride. (Bring $$$)

10:00 AM FUN-H2-22 miles Ride to Central Park (Not NYC) Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at South High School 1700 E Louisiana Ave for a beautiful ride through old Denver neighborhoods to Central Park. Then we’ll head back through City Park, Cheesman Park and Washington Park. Lunch at Duffy’s.


Saturday, October 11th

CANCELLED DUE TO DETERIORATING FORECAST

9:30 AM FUN-H2-22-NW (Elevation Gain = 1060 feet) - THE HALLOWEEN DISPLAY and REALLY RADICAL RAT RACE RODENT RIDE. Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this ride that takes us around the trails of Rock Creek (IT STARTS OUT WITH A LOOK AT MY OWN HALLOWEEN DISPLAY!!!), Interlocken and Broomfield highlighted by the new bike overpass between Interlocken and Broomfield leading to rarely seen trails!!! Come find out how this ride got it’s name. Meet at the SE corner of the Safeway parking lot, under the trees at the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center in Superior. Rock Creek Village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)

Sunday, October 12th:

NEW RIDE

9:30 AM Fun Plus H1 26 NE. East Denver Trails Loop in Reverse. This ride was so well-liked that I’m doing it again but in reverse and a little faster! Meet Mark Fields (302-465-4525) at the northeast corner parking lot of Fred Thomas Park, 26th Avenue and Roslyn Streets, one block east of Quebec for an all-paved big loop around East Denver using several of my favorite trails. We’ll start on some quiet streets to get to the Cherry Creek Trail, and then on to the S. Platte, Sand Creek, Westerly Creek Trails, and then a short stint on the Greenway Trail to return to the park. DANG Ice Cream, a few blocks away, will be our reward afterward.


Monday, October 13th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-21-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to the Peak to Plains Trail, which we will take to the current construction point.  We will return to Parfet Park for a break, and then return to the start on the Clear Creek Trail.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, October 14th:

9:00 AM-FUN PLUS-H3-25-W-1200’ elev gain. “FUN BLUNN RUN & TAP”   REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by October 13, 5:00pm.  Join Marilyn Choske at Prospect Park, W. 44th Ave & Robb St, Wheat Ridge; park in back parking lot near restrooms.  Enjoy Clear Creek, Van Bibber, Blunn, and Ralston Creek Trails on this fun ride! 10:00am LEISURE H-2 19 SW.  RIDE to the START of the HIGHLINE CANAL.   Meet Karen Kelley (303-260-9029) at Waterton Canyon Trailhead parking lot, 12437 Waterton Canyon.  Ride 2 miles up the canyon to the Canal's beginning by the Black Bear Rest Area and return. After crossing the road, we will start at the Trail's beginning and ride to the Plum Creek Break mile marker 9.  Returning break at Roxborough Park Rd Trailhead. The whole trail is gravel. 


Wednesday, October 15th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H1-43-N Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) and Lauren Delle (970-903-8409) at the River Bluffs Open Space Trailhead in Windsor.  We will ride along the Poudre River Trail (all paved) in Larimer County for 21 miles to the Greeley Fairgrounds, where we will have a break.  We will return via the same route.  NOTE:  There is no water along the trail for 21 plus miles.  DIRECTIONS:  From I-25 North, take exit 262 east for 1.5 miles to County Rd 3.  Go north on County Rd 3 for 0.5 miles to County Rd 32E.  Then go east on County Rd 32E for 0.3 miles to the entrance of the River Bluffs Open Space.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00 AM FUN-H2-20 SW Reverse of the Roller Coaster Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 at Broken Tee Golf Course 2101 W Oxford Ave, Englewood to go up Big Dry Creek, catch Clarkson and cross Arapahoe Road at the new light (YEAH!). Ride the coaster backwards but then you get to go DOWN C-470 trail and through the new tunnel (Another shoutout). Karen suggested this change so if we don’t like it – blame her. Bring lunch for a picnic after.


Thursday, October 16th:

10:00AM FUN PLUS-H2/3-30 - 36 miles-SE Chatfield Reservoir State Park to Sedalia Meet Diane Short on the  shoulder parking area at Deer Creek Canyon Road on the west side of Wadsworth. We will ride through Chatfield to quiet neighborhood roads in Sterling ranch. Waterton Rd to Sedelia and back through Louviers. We’ll stop at the bakery in Sedalia for coffee, snacks, restrooms. The ride will not go if there is wet weather or high winds.  The leader is not on Meet up.  303-271-9642 (land line)


Friday,October 17th:

10:00 AM ATB FUN PLUS H-1-29 Miles SW Meet Peter Woulfe(540-219-6674) at intersection of Foxton Rd. and Platte River Rd. (Take US 285 south past Conifer, take the exit for Foxton Rd. Follow the signs for Foxton Road to the end - about 8 miles.Go left at the stop sign for River Road. There is some parking on both sides of River Rd.) NO CELL SERVICE.  We will ride along the river, the first 5 miles are rough pavement, then 5 miles of dirt until we reach smooth pavement. This is an out and back ride. Some of the gravel on the return is washboard jarring.

Tuesday, October 21st:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-21-SW Meet Simone Caruthers (720-636-2884) at the Target at Riverpoint Parkway (3650 Riverpoint Parkway, Sheridan 80110) for a ride south on the South Platte Trail, through the Wadsworth tunnel, climbing back up the Chatfield dam. We will then ride across the dam and down to the dog park for a break. We will return via the South Platte Trail, taking it north back to the start


Wednesday, October 22rd:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS H-3-23 Miles SW Meet  Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Clement Park. Meet behind the library near the skateboard park. We will exit the rear of the park  to the Dutch Creek Trail up to C-470 trail exiting at Ken Caryl through the neighborhood to South Valley Dr., South Platte Canyon Rd. to Chatfield. Returning on the Columbine Trail and neighborhood streets.Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.

10:00 AM FUN-H2-20-25 miles SW Enjoy the Views Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618--5069) at Clement Park for a slower paced ride heading west up Lilly Gultch Trail to C-470 but we will go into Ken Caryl and climb to the back then shoot down the back side to enjoy the beautiful scenery to Deer Creek Canyon, into Chatfield, through the tunnel to take Platte Canyon back to the park.


Thursday October 23rd:

NEW

10:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take to the Ralston Creek Trail.  After a break, we will then ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail east to the Clear Creek Trail, returning west back to the park.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Friday, October 24th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-SW (ELEV GAIN = 1576) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE GREAT AMERICAN DINOSAUR RIDE 2025!!! The adventure begins at the Lakewood Heritage Center at Belmar Park at Ohio Street on the west side of Wadsworth, north of Mississippi and South of Alameda.  We will tour the park then head west to Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks where we will stop for breaks. Then we will continue on down through Morrison and Bear Creek Trail and return north to Belmar Park.  The first 100 attendees will ride for free!!! Lunch options will be discussed.

10:00 AM FUN-H2-22-NW Scary Halloween Graveyard Ride, meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic View Park north parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. or 71st ST!) for this tour of three old Arvada graveyards.  Costumes are welcome but not required. There may be a ghoulish lunch afterwards for those who survive this haunting experience! 


Monday, October 27th:

10:30AM (was 10:00 AM) FUN PLUS-H2-29-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail, which we will take to the South Platte Trail.  We will then ride south to REI for a break.  We will return to the start via the Neighborhood Bikeway (35th Ave).  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, October 28th:

10:00 AM FUN – H1 – 20 - Downtown: Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Incredible FREE BEVERAGE FAREWELL to Summer Adventure. We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (Exit at 20th Ave going east away from the mountains. Turn right over the bridge onto Little Raven, then turn right onto 19th Street, then right onto Platte River which becomes Rockmont Drive, and go until you dead end into the parking lot at the large bike statue) for this fantastic ride down the Cherry Creek Bike Path to the 4 Mile Historic House and beyond. A beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders on the return voyage at the REI Starbucks before we head back to the cars.

 

Wednesday, October 29th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2/H3-25 miles SW End of Season Latte Ride Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Dartmouth. My old commute - we’ll head to the Tech Center on various trails. We must climb some hills and there are sections on the Highline Canal (pea gravel), and then we’ll have our morning latte COMPLEMENTS OF DBTC and loop back to Bear Valley. It is a beautiful ride, and we get to have a wonderful downhill back to Bear Valley.


Thursday, October 30th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-30-SE Ride to Enchanted Grounds Coffeehouse Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead (.2 miles east on Arapahoe Rd from the Arapahoe Rd and S. Jordan Rd intersection) for a fun ride along the Cherry Creek Trail south to the E470 Trail where we’ll turn and go west. We’ll ride over the bridges near Park Meadows continuing on to Colorado Blvd. We’ll head south there for .5 miles stopping at Enchanted Grounds Coffeehouse for a break. Bring money for a beverage. We’ll ride back on the same route. Bring a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy after the ride. Ride is limited to 10 riders.  Please sign up on Meetup for this ride.


Friday, October 31st: Halloween

9:30 AM FUN-H2-30-N-1000’ elev gain. "SPOOKY SPECTOR RIDE”  REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by October 30, 5:00pm.  Join Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park, W. 44th Ave. & Field St, near the back pavilion for this loopy, disjointed (sound skeleton-y?) ride that takes us to a few cemeteries (inside of or just passing by) in the NW-to-NE area, using bike paths & bike-friendly streets. Costumes are welcome/encouraged but not required. No full-face Halloween masks; face paint is fine. Wear your garlic necklace, bring your wooden stake or sharpen your incisors, wrap yourself in your black cloak (shortened, so it doesn’t catch in your bike!), and let’s hop on our 2-wheeled broomsticks and RIDE! Stop en route for a complimentary DBTC beverage or snack--bring your Trick-or-Treat bags??  Limit 8 riders, including leader.  Ride will not go if it is too spooky with rain or rain forecast in the morning; call the leader if in doubt. Whaaa-ha-hat are YOU going to be this day?! Happy Halloween!
