August 2025 DBTC Ride Schedule
Friday, August 1st:
9:00 AM ATB FUN PLUS-H1-29-SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at the intersection of Foxton Rd and Platte River Rd (Take US 285 south past Conifer. Take the exit for Foxton Rd. Follow the signs for Foxton Rd to the end–about 7 miles. Go left at the stop sign for River Road. There is some parking on both sides of River Rd. NO CELL SERVICE). We will ride along the river. The first 5 miles are rough pavement, then 5 miles of dirt until we reach smooth pavement. This is an out and back ride.

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb) for a ride through Olde Town Arvada to the Ralston Creek Trail. We will then ride west on the Ralston Creek Trail to the west side of the Westwoods Golf Course for a break. We will return via Easley Rd and the Clear Creek Trail to the start. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.
Tuesday, August 5th:
9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-29-Frisco (Elevation Gain = 1556’) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE ICE CREAM TOUR OF LAKE DILLON - KEYSTONE EDITION. We will ride the multi-use trail around Lake Dillon and then to Keystone. We will then return to the lake and climb the Swan Mountain bike path to the top and enjoy the incredible view. Afterwards, we will enjoy the fabulous downhill ride, completing a circle back to Frisco where we will purchase ice cream at the Foote Sweet Shoppe (Bring $$$). Directions to Summit Middle School, 158 School Rd, Frisco: Drive westbound from Denver on I-70 to Exit 203, and take the roundabout exit that leads south onto the bridge crossing I-70. Continue south on Summit Blvd. (Hwy 9) for 0.8 miles to the stoplight intersection of School Rd. & CR 1040. Turn left onto School Rd. and look for DBTC members in the parking lot in the section on the right that is closest to the trail.
Wednesday, August 6th:
8:30 AM FUN-H2-20 miles SW Sneak into Bear Creek Park. Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Stone House Park on Estes and Yale. We’ll ride the Bear Creek Trail west to Kipling then over to the trail beside Quincy and sneak into the park over the bridge without climbing Mt. Carbon. We’ll enjoy a ride through the park and come back over t;he dam to catch the trail back to the Stone House for a picnic lunch.
Thursday, August 7th:
9:00am FUN H1 25 miles NE Twin Lakes to Riverdale Veterans Memorial Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at 300 West 70th Ave, (1/8 mi West of Broadway and 70th) Bike East on Clear Creek to junction of Platte River Trail. Turn North on Platte River trail toward Riverdale Regional Park area. We will exit off Platte River trail to the entrance of the Adams County Veterans Memorial. We will take our break for restrooms and snacks while we view and explore the architectural design of the Veterans Memorial. We will return by the same route to Twin Lakes. Bring lunch items or snacks if you stay to visit after the ride.
9:00 AM MTB 15 miles NW P2 T2 (1044 feet elevation gain) - DIRTY BISMARK Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Coalton Trailhead (3495 McCaslin Blvd, Superior, CO 80027) where will decide whether we should conquer the Dirty Bismark clockwise or counter-clockwise…nuff said!

Join Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park, 44th & Field St, Wheat Ridge--back parking lot near big pavilion. Clear Creek Trail west to Tucker Gulch, north on Hwy 93 to Van Bibber Trail. North for climb over Blunn (aka Arvada) Reservoir, Ralston Creek Trail into Arvada for Ice Cream stop (compliments of your DBTC) and return. Trails and bike-friendly streets. Pace 10-14mph. Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call leader if in doubt.
9:00 AM FUN-H2-18/23-NW- Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) Address is 4451 Main Street. We will take secret trails around Broomfield and Westminster where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!

8:00 AM FUN-H1-24-30 NE. ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL RIDE. Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney. We’ll ride city streets north to the Sand Creek Trail, ride toward Northfield area and Rocky Mountain Arsenal. We will return by way of bike lanes and Central Park Greenway trails. Pace will be 12 to 14 mph. Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565. Will have the opportunity to get a snack at Cake Crumbs after the ride.
Monday, August 11th:
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Tabor St. We will ride north on Tabor to Ridge Rd and through the Skyline Estates neighborhood in Arvada to the Ralston Creek Trail. We will then ride east to the Clear Creek Trail, which we will ride west exiting in Wheat Ridge to Sloans Lake. After a break, we will ride around the lake and return to the start through Wheat Ridge neighborhoods. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-24-NW (Elevation Gain = 1200 feet) Meet NEW RIDE LEADER Holly Myers (303-601-2117) and Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb) for a ride west along the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd to the Fairmount Canal Trail to the Arvada Reservoir and back. (Fairmount Trail has some gravel.) Bring a sack lunch for an early lunch afterward.

9:00 AM FUN-H3-22-NW (Elevation Gain = 1200 feet) - Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE GREAT BLACK HOLE OF LOUISVILLE AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!! This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you under the trees at the Safeway at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)
Wednesday, August 13th:
8:30 AM FUN-H2-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We’ll wind down to the Platte Trail and then enjoy a shady ride up Big Dry Creek, along the Highline Canal, and back down C-470 and through the new tunnel. There are a couple of climbs but only 614 feet and some of the trails are hardpack gravel. We’ll then wander back to enjoy our sack lunches.
Thursday, August 14th
9:00 am NE FUN/ FUN Plus H1 - 24mi Twin Lakes to Sand Creek and Northfield Loop Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes 300 70th Ave Denver (1/8 mi West of 53 and 224) We will ride East on Clear Creek trail to South Platte trail junction. Turn right over Clear Creek bridge to Denver. Follow Platte bike path South to the Sand Creek trail junction on left. Follow Sand Creek trail to the Sand Creek Greenway and do a big loop around urban Central Park. At 13 miles a midride stop at Starbucks for bathroom and refreshment. After our break we continue along Central Park Blvd to the North Field Mall. We extend our ride by another loop around urban Prairie Basin and Meadow Basin Parks. Return on Sand Creek to Twin Lakes for recovery, socializing, and lunch that you brought. Bring money for your Starbucks break.
10:45 AM MTB P2-T2 Little Scraggy Trailhead. Be there about 10:30 AM to meet Jeff and Roxy, ride on time. This is for the dogs day. Or chocolate ice cream bar fans. Must RSVP to get a count. About a 2 hour excursion only. Ride Colorado Trail, section 2, to Buffal Burn, left to Nice Kitty top, then back to the lot. Or go further out and back on Colorado Trail, section 3. Or ride a bit north out and back on Little Scraggy 2 trail. Note that the Little Scraggy TH is about 4 miles south of Buffalo Creek. A small fee helps the Forest Service keep this trailhead open. Enjoy a short ride, then come back for some lunch and an ice cream bar snack. Will be using one of the picnic tables the Forest Service has placed at the top.
Friday, August 15th:
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-28-SE Village Greens to REI Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Village Greens Park (9501 East Union Avenue, Greenwood Village) for a ride north on the Cherry Creek Trail. We’ll make a stop at REI for a break and then return via the same route. Bring money if you’d like to purchase a beverage at REI and bring a sack lunch to enjoy after the ride. Ride is limited to 10 riders. Please sign up on Meetup for this ride.
Saturday, August 16th:
9:00 AM FUN-H2-23-NW 9:00 AM BRAND NEW MAJESTIC COLORADO TAPHOUSE ADVENTURE . Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the new COLORADO TAPHOUSE (14982 W 69th Ave, Arvada, CO 80007.) This loop ride will use the Ralston Creek Trail, Van Bibber Creek Trail, Blunn Trail and others. We will enjoy a drink and/or lunch at the COLORADO TAPHOUSE after the ride. (Bring $$$)
Monday, August 18th:
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-24-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a loop ride to Golden, through Arvada and back to the park. We will ride the Clear Creek Trail, Tucker Gulch, Mesa St Trail, Van Bibber Trail and the Blunn Trail before taking 52nd Ave through western Arvada to return. Note: We will spend approximately one mile on a wide shoulder on Hwy 93 during this ride. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.
9:00 AM ATB- T1-H2 823 feet elevation climb-26 miles. Meet Lauren Delle: 970-903-8409 in front of Panera, 302 Center Drive, Superior Marketplace to ride the Coal Creek Trail from Superior to Erie. Gravel ride on pea gravel bike path from Superior to Erie passing through Louisville and Lafayette and returning the same route. Non technical, gravel bike/tires or MTB required. Ride limited to 8, text Lauren Delle: 970-903-8409 to confirm spot by 5:00 pm 8/17.
Tuesday, August 19th:
7:30 AM LEISURE H1-17-NE/SE. Meet Jill McMahon (303) 888-0314 at the BACK side of the Aurora Municipal Building, 15152 E Alameda Pkwy, Aurora. This will be the next section of the RIDE THE TOTAL 71 MILES OF THE HIGHLINE Adventure. We will end the ride at the Eisenhower Recreation Center (4300 E. Dartmouth Ave, Denver.) This will entail shuttling cars with bike racks so that we will have cars at the end. If you have a 7 seater vehicle and/or have a 2 bike rack, please bring them. Please text or call Jill with this information prior to the ride. This ride will be on concrete and gravel.
Wednesday, August 20th.
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-26-SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Clement Park. Meet behind the library near the skateboard park. We will exit the rear of the park, work our way to Coal Mine, C470 trail, exiting at Ken Caryl through the neighborhood to South Valley Dr, South Platte Canyon Rd to Chatfield. Returning on the Columbine Trail and neighborhood streets. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.
9:30 AM FUN -H2-20to25-SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Village Greens Park – NE corner of Union and Dayton for a loop ride from the park through Denver and Aurora on trails and then a lap around the reservoir on our return. We haven’t been there for a while so it seems like something we should do. We’ll go get ice cream at Little Man Ice Cream at 4940 S Yosemite St, E1 after (bring $). They open at noon so a little later start.

9:00 am Fun H1-21 mile NE Twin Lakes to Prospect Park and return. Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes,( 300 West 70th Ave, 1/8 West of Broadway) Denver. Ride West on Clear Creek toward Golden on paved paths. Bathroom break/regroup at Wheat Ridge rec center before continuing to Prospect Park. After our break there we will return by the same route. Expect a 2 hr ride at 11 to 13 mph with breaks. Bring your own lunch or snacks to stay and visit after the ride at Twin Lakes.

9:00 am NE Fun H1 20 mi Twin Lakes to Little Dry Creek Meet Fred Tarbell at 226-318 W 70th Ave Denver, 1/8 mile West of Broadway and 224 Ave. Ride West on Clear Creek to Little Dry Creek junction. Follow Little Dry Creek through urban neighborhoods to W 80th Ave. Then connect to Arbor Park Lake for a lake loop ride before returning to W 80th Ave. We will continue West along 80th Ave and Yarrow St to stop at King Scoopers for a bathroom break. Continue West to Little Dry Creek trail passing around Pomona Lake. After a midride break at a small neighborhood park we will return East on Little Dry Creek back to Twin Lakes. Welcome to bring lunch items to stay and visit after the ride.

Route is following Marshall Mesa east to Community Ditch, back west and cross the bridge to the Marshall Mesa climb southward. Cross Hwy 93 at the southwest corner of the Greenbelt area, then go southwest to Doudy Draw. Explore the Vista trails before descending the rocky gulch dropping into Spring Brook loop. Ride the loop counter-clockwise while thinking about your summer adventures. Return by dropping north in the Draw, then via the Community Ditch trail and the Hwy 93 underpass. As usual, compare notes at Southern Sun Brewpub. Southern Sun is about 3 miles north of the trailhead, in the Table Mesa Shopping Center. Order a sandwich and get a refreshing drink. Please keenly NOTE: Southern Sun is CASH only!

8:30am LEISURE H1-18-SE PARKER'S FARMER'S MARKET meet Karen Kelley (303-260-9029) at Arapahoe Trailhead 14800 E Arapahoe Rd (.02 miles east of Jordan Rd) . Ride Cherry Creek Trail to Sulphur Gulch to Downtown Parker Farmer's Market. We will lock our bikes up and do some tasting. Bring money and a lock.
9:00 AM FUN H1 22 NW Trails and Bikeways of East Denver and Aurora. Meet Mark Fields (302-465-4525) at the northeast corner parking lot of Fred Thomas Park, 26th Avenue and Roslyn Streets, one block east of Quebec for a mostly-paved route along bikeways and trails, including through Greenway Park and onto the Westerly Creek, Sand, and Tollgate Creek Trails before returning on the lesser-travelled eastern section of the High Line Canal Trail. Bring lunch or snacks for a picnic in the park afterward.
Monday, August 25th:
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd. We will ride Easley Rd north to 60th Ave (becomes 58th) to Hwy 93, which we will take south. Note: We will spend approximately one mile on a wide shoulder on Hwy 93. After a break at Norman D Memorial Park, we will ride down Tucker Gulch to the Clear Creek Trail and back to the start. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00 AM FUN/LEISURE-H2-15 Frisco to Copper - Temple to Tenmile to Copper W. Meet Lin Hark (303-507-3502) in downtown Frisco at the Visitor Center (300 Main St, Frisco, CO 80443). We will ride to the Temple Trail then join the Tenmile Trail and ride to Copper Mountain Ski Area. The group option could be to go further toward Vail Pass to make it a 20 mile ride. This ride has an elevation gain of 676 ft. Lunch after in downtown Frisco. Lin will be on her E-Bike and other E-Bikes are welcome. Bring lock, money for lunch and extra clothes in case of rain or cooler temperatures. Carpools can meet at 8:45 AM at Stegosaurus Park n Ride near Hwy 93 just south of I-70. Coordinate carpooling in Meetup. Lin will be in Summit County
Tuesday, August 26
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-24-SE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Broncos Parkway Trailhead (16400 E. Broncos Parkway, Centennial) for a ride north on the Cherry Creek Trail into Cherry Creek State Park and then turning east to ride on the Piney Creek Trail. We’ll ride the Piney Creek Trail to Red-tailed Hawk Park where we will turn around and ride back. There is one short section, ΒΌ mile, that will be on a neighborhood road with the rest of the ride on trails. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward. Ride is limited to 10 riders. Meet Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park in Wheat Ridge, 44th & Field St., farthest-back parking lot near the pavilion for this urban/suburban loop nestled within the I-70, I-76, & 6th Avenue "corridors." The counterclockwise direction ensures we get those big climbs outta the way right off! Bikepaths, some road riding, parks, & lakes. Easy 10-14mph. Bring $$ for beverage stop at Sloan's Lake. Ride won’t go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call leader if in doubt. DBTC *Active* members can use RWGPS Club Account to view, print out, and send cues to mobile device. Wednesday, August 27th:
9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at the west end of the parking lot for Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte Trail to the C-470 trail, then to Clarkson St. We will go on a few quiet neighborhood streets, meandering back to Clarkson onto Little Dry Creek, then back to the South Platte Trail. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.
9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-S. CLEMENT PARK LOOP with a Twist. Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) in the West Parking Lot behind the library. The Clement Park Loop is west along Lily Gulch Trail out to C-470, Some climbing but then cruise down on C-470 Trail and cut over and finish our sail down Deer Creek Road. A quick bump over the dam and then catch Mary Carter Greenway, returning to Clement Park via the Columbine Valley neighborhood. Bring a picnic lunch for after.
Thursday, August 28th:
9:00 am NE Fun Plus H1 32 NE Rotella Park to Brighton Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Rotella Park, 1824 S. Coronado Pkwy, Denver, (East end at shelter 1) Ride East on Niver Creek bikeway to South Platte trail. Turn left, North on South Platte trail, following the Platte River on the right, for 16 miles to Brighton. Bathroom and break in Brighton, or in route, before returning the same route to Rotella Park. Bring money for Berry Bleenz, Stone Cold Creamy, or Star Bucks if desired. Entire route is flat and open, with only last mile on streets. Bring snack/lunch items for socializing after ride if desired.
Friday, August 29th:
9:30 AM INT-H4-27-Copper Mountain (TOTAL Elevation Gain = 3000’) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE BRAND NEW BEYOND VAIL PASS EXPERIENCE. We will take the West Ten Mile Creek Trail up 777 feet from Copper Mountain (Elevation 9817 feet) to Vail Pass (Elevation 10594) and beyond to the Gore Creek Campground (Elevation 8681 feet) where we will turn around. We will then climb the 1913 feet and return to the top of Vail Pass. After a break we will enjoy the fabulous downhill ride back to Copper Mountain. We will meet at the west end of Copper Mountain at the free Union Creek Parking Lot (111 Beeler Pl, Frisco, CO 80443.) THIS RIDE IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART (or bring your E bike!)

Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this ride that takes us around the trails of Rock Creek, Interlocken and Broomfield highlighted by the new bike overpass between Interlocken and Broomfield leading to never before seen trails!!! Come find out how this ride got it’s name. Meet at the SE corner of the Safeway parking lot at the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center in Superior. Rock Creek Village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)
